When I first heard about putting pomegranate on peanut butter toast, I was hesitant. But if Padma Lakshmi likes it, it must be good, right?
My verdict? It freakin’ rocks.
I’m so glad I tried it, because it tastes just like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, only crunchy! While it seems silly to have a recipe for this, I wanted to also share a few tips to make this humble toast just a bit more heart-healthy.
Pick whole grain bread with at least 3g of fiber. Fiber is beneficial for both your heart and your gut health. Just to ensure the nutritional information is accurate, I specified the bread I used when I made this: Dave’s Killer 21 Whole Grains and Seeds. It’s my go-to bread with a whopping 5g of fiber per slice!

Pomegranate will taste the best during its peak season between September and February. They’re a great source of antioxidants and minerals.

Crunchy Peanut Butter Pomegranate Toast
- measuring cups
- measuring spoons
- butter knife
- 1 slice Dave’s Killer 21 Whole Grains and Seeds bread
- 2 Tbsp natural peanut butter unsalted
- ¼ cup pomegranate seeds
- Toast the whole grain bread until crispy.
- Spread peanut butter over each slice.
- Top with pomegranate seeds.
